Snoots — Find Lost Pets — Privacy Policy

Last Updated: June 8, 2026

Introduction

Snoots ("Snoots: Find lost pets", bundle id com.snoots.du) for iOS and Android respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. Snoots is a lost-and-found pet app: you report a missing pet, the community nearby reports sightings, and the app helps match them — including biometric nose-scan verification — to reunite pets with their owners. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we keep it secure.

Data We Collect

We collect the following data, linked to your identity, solely to provide the app's functionality. We do not use any of your data for tracking across other companies' apps or websites.

Pet Biometric Nose Scan

Snoots verifies pet identity using on-device biometric nose scanning (TensorFlow Lite dog/cat detection). This processes camera frames of your pet — not people. Detection runs locally on your device; the resulting pet image and scan are sent to our service only to register or match your pet.

Permissions We Request

You can refuse or revoke any permission in your device Settings. Doing so may limit related features (e.g., scanning, the nearby map).

Authentication

You sign in with Sign in with Apple (iOS) or Google Sign-In. These providers share your name and email with us per your consent. We do not receive your social account password.

Subscriptions

Snoots offers a premium subscription that unlocks features such as biometric nose-scan matching and AI match alerts.

Payments and subscriptions are processed by the Apple App Store and Google Play Store through RevenueCat. These services have their own privacy policies.

User-Generated Content & Safety

Snoots includes community posts, sighting reports, and user-to-user chat. You are responsible for the content you post. We provide tools to report objectionable content and block abusive users, and we act on valid reports. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users.

We use the following service providers strictly to operate the app. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it except as needed to provide these services or where required by law:

Data Retention & Security

We retain your data only as long as necessary to provide the services you request. We take commercially reasonable measures to protect your information from loss, theft, or unauthorized access.
