Welcome!

I'm Snehasis Majumder, currently exploring the marvellous universe of 'Neuro-epigenetics' as a Prime Minister's Research Fellow under the supervision of Dr. Abhijit Das from School of Bio Science, IIT Kharagpur. Since my childhood, I have always been intrigued by life itself and never get tired to raise questions about different events happening surrounding me. To satisfy my childhood thirst for answering those questions, I chose science during my higher secondary studies and eventually completed my graduation in Life Sciences, a branch of Science with never-ending questions with perplexingly beautiful natural solutions. The living world is so enormously complex and its working logics are so intricately orchestrated, it compels one to fall in love with its mechanistic choreography. I enrolled myself for M.Sc. in ‘Chemical and Molecular Biology’ which focused my attention to the molecules of life and helped me to appreciate the way of high level of precision they are working with. My current research interest is primarily aimed at decoding the perplexity of dynamic large-scale chromatin remodelling during long term memory formation. Also, during the course of my Ph.D. adventure, I will try to figure out whether some cognitive information acquired during one’s lifetime can transmit to next generation or not? And if so, how the brain is talking with the gametes to pass the brain information to subsequent generations?

Interesting it is, Right! Want to explore more about my research!
