Garoono ("we," "our," or "us") built the SnapPDF app ("App") as a freemium application. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use our App.
SnapPDF is an offline-first image to PDF converter and document scanner that processes your files entirely on your device. We do not upload, store, or access your images, PDFs, or signatures on any server. The App uses third-party services (Google AdMob, RevenueCat, and Firebase) that may collect limited device and usage data as described below.
Information we do NOT collect
We do not collect, upload, or store any images, photos, scanned documents, signatures, or generated PDF files you process in the App.
We do not require you to create an account or sign in with personal credentials.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any personal contact information.
All image processing, document scanning, text recognition (OCR), and PDF generation happens locally on your device. Your files never leave your phone.
Information collected by third-party services The App uses the following third-party services that may collect information:
Google AdMob (Advertising) The free version of the App displays ads powered by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect:
Device identifiers (Advertising ID)
IP address
Device information (model, operating system, screen size)
App usage data (interaction with ads)
Approximate location (derived from IP address, not GPS) For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.
RevenueCat (In-App Purchases) We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and in-app purchases. RevenueCat may collect:
Anonymous app user ID
Purchase and subscription history
Device type and operating system version RevenueCat does not collect personally identifiable information through our App. For more information, see RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, & Cloud Messaging) We use Firebase to understand general App usage patterns, fix bugs, and deliver notifications. These services may collect:
Anonymous usage data and events (e.g., number of PDFs created, features used)
App performance data and Crash logs (device state, stack traces)
Device information (model, OS version, orientation)
Anonymous instance IDs and push notification tokens This data is collected in aggregate and cannot be used to identify you personally. For more information, see Firebase Privacy.
The App requests the following device permissions to function correctly:
Storage / Media access: To load your photos/images for conversion, and to save generated PDF files directly to your device. We only access images you explicitly select.
Camera: Required exclusively for the Document Scanner feature to capture new documents or photos.
Notifications (Optional): To send you feature updates or relevant app alerts.
Internet: Required for displaying ads (free version), processing in-app purchases, fetching remote configurations, and sending anonymous analytics and crash reports. Internet access is never used to upload your documents.
The limited data collected through third-party services is used to:
Display relevant advertisements (free version only)
Process in-app purchases, unlock premium features, and manage subscriptions
Understand how users interact with the App to prioritize and improve features
Identify and fix crashes and bugs
Deliver occasional push notifications regarding app updates (if permitted)
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. The only data shared is the limited information collected by the third-party services listed above (Google AdMob, RevenueCat, Firebase), and such sharing is governed by their respective privacy policies.
Since we do not collect personal data directly, there is no personal data retained on our servers. Third-party services retain data according to their own retention policies:
Google AdMob: Google's data retention policies
RevenueCat: RevenueCat's data retention policies
Firebase: Firebase data retention policies
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
We take strict measures to protect your privacy through software architecture. All document scanning, text extraction (OCR), image conversion, and PDF generation occurs locally on your device and is never transmitted to external servers. Communications with third-party services (ads, purchases, analytics) are encrypted in transit.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your data. Since we do not directly collect personal data, most of these rights apply to the third-party services used in the App. You can:
Reset your Advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads through your device settings
Manage analytics collection and push notifications through your device settings
Contact us with any privacy-related requests
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
