CLUB OVERVIEW:

The Student Nutrition Academic Council [SNAC] was designed to increase the interest of students in the dietetic profession and to give them an opportunity to interact with registered dietitians in the Southern Illinois area.

Members work closely with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics at district, state, and national levels. The group holds fund raisers, sponsors special speaking events, and organizes recreational activities each semester.

The Student Nutrition Academic Council takes part in several events throughout the year. Some of the events include:

Classroom education at Head Start

Southern Illinois Dietetic Association meetings and events

Club cookouts

Provide Nutrition Education at Farmer's Markets

Volunteering at the Women's Center and various Food Pantries
