Welcome to the audition info site for Stratford Musical Theatre Company's 2022 production of Matilda The Musical Jr. You should find here all the information and resources you need to make sure you're completely prepared for our auditions.

To be involved in this production you will need to be in Year 4 - 12 (going in to Year 5 - 13 after summer) for the duration of the rehearsal period and the show (beginning September - 5 November).

To register to audition, please fill in this form. Please also make sure you bring a printed copy to your audition along with a recent photograph of yourself so we can identify you. (Please email and let us know if you don't have access to a printer.)

Audition Details

Date: Sunday 26 or Thursday 30 June (you only need to attend one)
Time: Sunday - 5.30 - 8pm (those auditioning for ensemble only can be collected at 6.30pm)
Thursday - 6.30 - 8pm (those auditioning for ensemble only can be collected at 7.15pm)
Venue: Stratford Methodist Church Hall, Old Town, Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 6BG

Audition Requirements

Everyone who wants to be in the show will be required to learn and perform a short excerpt of a song, and on the day will be taught a short dance sequence. The music excerpts can be found on the Singing page. The dance will be taught at the audition.

Rehearsal Information

Rehearsals will begin in September every Sunday 11am - 5pm at Ettington Community Centre, Rogers Lane, CV37 7SX, there will be morning and afternoon sessions so you won't be required for the full day - which one you are required at will depend on the team you're in. If you accept a role in the show, you are expected to attend all rehearsals unless agreed in advance. Please be aware that from the Sunday before the show (Sunday 30 October) you will be required for various rehearsals every evening, up to and including the show days. A full schedule will be provided as far in advance as possible.

We're hoping to organise two rehearsal dates in the Summer - Tuesday 30 and Wednesday 31 August, all day, venue TBC for full company. We'll confirm details of this as soon as we have it.

You'll need to be a member of Stratford Musical Theatre Company in order to perform, it costs £30 for the year and you sign up via our membership site MemberMojo.
