While retreats are welcome, it's important to note that the monastery is not a retreat center.
1. Visitor Guidelines:
- Respectful attire is required.
- No shorts, leggings, crop tops, skirts, or short dresses. All individuals must respect the monastery's dress code at all times.
- Follow any specific rules provided by the monastery.
2. Photography and Recording:
- Obtain permission before taking photos or recording.
- Avoid disrupting the peaceful atmosphere.
3. Cell Phone Usage:
- Silence phones during religious services.
- Limited use in designated areas to avoid disturbance.
4. Respect for Religious Practices:
- Participate respectfully in religious ceremonies.
- Follow any instructions given by the clergy.
5. Accommodations and Facilities:
- Adhere to rules regarding accommodations.
- Conserve resources and maintain cleanliness.
6. Donations and Offerings:
- Support the monastery through appropriate donations.
- Respect the designated areas for offerings.
7. Quiet Hours:
- Observe designated quiet hours for reflection and prayer.
8. Security Measures:
- Follow security protocols for the safety of all.
- Report any suspicious activity promptly.
9. Environmental Stewardship:
- Respect the natural surroundings.
- Dispose of waste responsibly.
10. Cultural Sensitivity:
- Be mindful of cultural differences.
- Foster an atmosphere of inclusivity and respect.
11. Responsibilities & Inspection procedures
- Retreat members are responsible for any damage or injuries within the monastery.
- A walkthrough at the beginning and end will be conducted to inspect rooms for damages or mess.
- Rooms must be cleaned before checking out.
- Supervision by a servant is mandatory for access to the game room to ensure safety. The room may only be open when supervised by the designated servant.
- A dedicated person must supervise all activities in the kitchen and eating halls. This includes overseeing kitchen equipment and ensuring all tasks are carried out responsibly.
- Room arrangements may involve shared accommodations. In case of key loss or damage, a $15 fee will be applicable, irrespective of the room configuration.
12. Personal Essentials:
- Visitors are responsible for bringing their own water, food, pillow covers, bed sheets, towels and blankets.
- Visitors are expected to adhere their own schedule.
- Ensure self-sufficiency for basic needs during the stay.
13. For reserving for a retreat or a spiritual day you will need:
- To submit the confirmation retreat form (The monastery will send this form after confirming the retreat)
- Insurance letter
- List of Attendees (Provide a list of attendees, including their names, phone numbers, dates of birth, home address, and email addresses.)
- Refundable cleaning and damage deposit of $200 will be collected upon check-in, intended to cover the cost of additional cleaning services or damages, and will be refunded after check-out, provided that no excessive cleaning is necessary and no damages are reported.
