Who we are

With over 32,000 members today, SMOU plays a vital role in promoting good industrial relations, improving working conditions through collective bargaining, and engaging key stakeholders through strong tripartite partnerships. 

Representing members on international platforms such as the ITF and ILO, the union also supports the welfare, employment, education, and families of its members through a wide range of benefits, activities, and lifelong learning programmes, whether they are sailing or ashore.
