We are excited to inform that we will be celebrating Durga Puja and Navaratri from October 20th to October 24th in Smondo 3. These auspicious occasions are a time of joy, devotion, and togetherness, and we would like to invite each and every one of you to join with your family and friends in this grand celebration.

Durga-Utsav & Navaratri Festival
Durga Puja also called Durgotsava, is an annual festival celebrated in the Indian subcontinent during the period of Sharad Navaratri (in Sanskrit, Sharada means autumn), to pay homage to the Devi Durga. It is particularly popular in the eastern states of West Bengal, Assam, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Tripura.
Durga Puja also called Durgotsava, is an annual festival celebrated in the Indian subcontinent during the period of Sharad Navaratri (in Sanskrit, Sharada means autumn), to pay homage to the Devi Durga. Navaratri festival is celebrated for 9 days, followed by Vijaya-Dashami. However starting from the sixth day until the ninth day, the Durga Puja Pandals with idols of Maa Durga along with Maa Lakshmi, Maa Saraswati, Lord Ganesha and Lord Kartikeya, are open for visitors.

The Maha Puja of the Durga Puja festivities begins on the day of Maha Saptami because this is the day that the legendary battle between Goddess Durga and the demon king Mahishasura began.

Durga Ashtami or Maha Ashtami is one of the most auspicious days of the five days long Durga Puja Festival. It is believed that the Goddess Chamunda appeared on this day from the forehead of Mother Durga and annihilated Chanda, Munda, and Raktabija (the demons associate of Mahishasura).

Navami - 23 October
Durga Navami or Maha Navami is celebrated as the victory of good over evil. Maha-Navami signifies the day when Goddess Durga made her final assault on demon Mahishasura, and the following morning, on Vijaya-Dushami, triumphed over him.
