A list of -illion numbers and how they work.
Pre -illions
Individual digits have distinct names:
One: 1
Ten: 10
Hundred: 100
Beyond this digits are sorted into groups of three separated by commas or periods. The first is thousands.
Thousand: 1,000
The -illions come after this. Two systems exist:
Short: Each -illion is a group of three digits. Used in the US and UK.
Long: Each -illion is a group of six digits. Used in the UK (before 1999), France, and Germany. (An -illion's thousands are called -illiards.)
Values for both systems are given.
Tier 1

You might have noticed that -illion 2 starts with Bi- and 3 with Tri-. This is continued past the familiar -illions, with Quadri- for 4, Quint- for 5, etc.
