Vacancy: Front-of-House Manager
Location: Smokey Horse, Braidwood NSW

Smokey Horse is a Himalayan restaurant, small bar, and live music venue in historic Braidwood in regional NSW. We’re a family-run business with fun, quirky, relaxed vibes, amazing Nepali/himalayan food, local craft beer, wine and cocktails, and occasional original live music venue.
We’re looking for a proactive and hands-on Front-of-House Manager. You’ll be responsible for the smooth daily running of the bar and restaurant, with some function management and live music support. You will make sure customers have a welcoming experience while maintaining high standards in service, compliance, and team leadership.
Oversee all front-of-house operations, including restaurant service, bar service, and supporting functions and live music events.
Lead, train, and roster a small team of bar and floor staff.
Provide a warm and professional point of contact for customers and performers.
Ensure responsible service of alcohol (RSA) and maintain compliance with licensing laws.
Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure a seamless customer experience.
Manage stock levels, ordering, and supplier relationships for bar and FOH supplies.
Assist with venue setup for live music events, including ensuring smooth show logistics.
Monitor and report on sales, staffing, and customer feedback to support business growth.
Implement and maintain health, safety, and cleanliness standards.
Proven experience in a bar or restaurant management role.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Experience with stock management and POS systems.
Valid NSW RSA
Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.
Familiarity with Nepali culture and/or cuisine - Nepalis strongly encouraged to apply!
Familiarity with small town or regional hospitality settings.
Experience promoting or coordinating events.
Hands-on, solutions-focused attitude with the ability to multitask.
Knowledge of live music/event operations or enthusiasm for live music.
Car and driver’s license.

A full-time salary with annual and personal leave will be negotiated based on experience and industry standards. Indicative work week:
Wednesday - 4 hours: stocktaking, ordering, rostering, cleaning, beer lines etc
Thursday - 3pm-11pm: front of house
Friday - 1:30pm-12am/close: front of house
Saturday - 1:30pm-12am/close: front of house
Sunday: 1:30pm-10pm/close: front of house
