The rules here at SMO Gaming Simulations for our NR2003 league racing are simple:
Every driver must be on the SMO TeamSpeak server for the race
With the use of a new tool we are now able to manually throw the caution and shorten the caution period so we don't waste upwards of 5 laps under caution. How this will work is the caution will be thrown if there are any accidents involving two or more vehicles. No single car spin will result in a caution. If you make contact with another car and that car spins or wrecks, that is considered a caution. Please indicate any accidents that warrant a yellow flag as the admins won't always be able to see everything. Remember, it is still better to speak up and claim a yellow than it is to not say anything and fall behind and never recover.
POINT OF NO RETURN (no more cautions) goes into effect with 5 laps to go. This does not mean to race over aggressively. If you cause an accident in that period you should drop to the back and let everyone get going again, then you can continue to race for position. If an accident occurs within the final five laps during the point of no return and it is not claimed the admins will review it and a one lap EOLL penalty will be issued once it is determined who is at fault.
No racing back to the caution until 10 laps to go.
NEW LAPPED CAR PROCEDURES - EFFECTIVE 08/17/2025 - During any and every caution period in the race, ALL lapped cars will now be required to start from the rear of the pack. Lapped cars must speed through the pits the second lap around (no pit stop is required, but you may if you wish to), get an EOLL penalty and line up wherever your spotter tells you to. Occasionally a lapped car may forget to drive through the pits - if that is the case, please pull down to the inside on the restart and allow the field to pass and blend back in at the tail of the field.
No low lining (staying glued to the bottom lane all the way around the track, only applies at superspeedway / drafting tracks) until 10 laps to go. There are exceptions, such as if you are on the bottom lane racing against the top lane and you get stuck there while battling with the outside lane. This is to encourage passing and racing throughout the event.
No passing on restarts until after turn 2 except under 10 laps to go. If you do pass before turn 2, just be sure to give the position back. Rule waived for certain exceptions such as another car losing control, someone misses a shift, etc.
Please try to be mindful of lead lap cars if you are a lapped car. It is your responsibility to know the location of the lead lap cars - always use your F2 relative standings.
No voice chat during qualifying session, no unnecessary voice chat during the end of the race.
NEW / REVISION CLAIM OF CAUTION PROCEDURE - EFFECTIVE 08/17/2025 If you are the cause of the caution, speed down pit lane and get an EOLL penalty and start at the back. Sometimes the EOLL car does not end up at the very back for different reasons. If this happens to you, all we ask if that on the restart you drop down low and allow the remaining cars to pass you, you can then blend back in at the tail of the field and continue on. If you already went EOLL but cars ahead of you pit, you must start behind them which means you need to speed in the pit lane again or simply pit along with them and wait for them all to exit pit road. If for some reason you do not restart as the final car but are at the back, you must drop low on the restart and allow any car(s) behind you to pass and then you can resume racing. Failure to line up at the rear of the field will result in a -1 lap EOLL post race penalty.
All restarts are single file. ALL LAPPED CARS TO THE REAR
Lucky dog and wave around rules apply. The first driver one lap down at the time of the caution will get a lap back. Any cars that are on the tail end of the lead lap and lined up between the pace car and leader and DID NOT pit under that caution period must either take the wave around by driving around the pace car and catching back up to the end of the field or they must pit. All drivers will have their black flags for passing under caution cleared once the race returns to green flag conditions.
For the super stadium trucks and all road course events we turn off the game cautions. If there is an accident involving two or more cars we will have a 'gentleman's caution' and all slow, allowing everyone to get caught back up. Once everyone is caught up the leader of the race will find a suitable area on the track to countdown the restart. The leader will announce "3, 2, 1, GO!" or something very similar, spoken at a normal speed, clearly and loud enough for everyone to hear.
If for some reason you fall from the game (game crash, loss of internet connection, etc.), when you get reconnected we will give your laps back up to one lap down. If there are other lapped cars, we will bring you up to the same lap as the last lapped car.
HAVE FUN! We love to race and be competitive, but we also don't take it too serious. We laugh and joke for a majority of the race and always have a good time.

Points Systems:
If you miss any race, you will be given a provisional for that event. You must start one race in the series to receive a provisional.
SUNDAY (Cup Series 2025) - Provisionals will be worth 100 points (equivalent to a 21st place finish using the points system NASCAR used between 2004 and 2006). A driver must first run a race before they will be given a provisional for any events following their first race in a series. Provisional points may be adjusted occasionally to ensure the last place driver receives more points than a driver that misses that race. If more than 21 cars run the race, the provisional points will be adjusted to one spot less than the amount of cars in the race. For example, if 27 cars run in the race, the provisional points will be worth that of a 28th place finish.
MONDAY (Josh's Eggs Touring Series) - Provisionals are worth half of the first place points (equivalent to a 23rd place finish ). A driver must first run a race before they will be given a provisional for any events following their first race in a series. Provisional points may be adjusted occasionally to ensure the last place driver receives more points than a driver that misses that race. If more than 23 cars run the race, the provisional points will be adjusted to one spot less than the amount of cars in the race. For example, if 27 cars run in the race, the provisional points will be worth that of a 28th place finish. Each driver will be limited to TWO provisionals in a season.
