About Us
Mission Statement
The Society of Minority Managers (SMM) is a support group for historically underrepresented minority students within the School of Business. SMM allows members to gain leadership experience through managing projects and events from conceptualization/planning to execution/completion. SMM focuses on preparing members for corporate America through training, conferences, guest speakers, and workshops that build and promote academic excellence and career development. Peer-to-peer mentoring is the foundation of our support group, while community service is a major tenet of the organization.
The Society of Minority Managers serves the broad educational needs of historically underrepresented minority students within the School of Business by:
Establishing lines of communication between minority business students, business professionals, and the business employment market.
Promoting professional and academic excellence among minority business students.
Assisting the School of Business in the recruitment of minority students.
