SMM Corporate Networking Reception
Event Date: Wednesday, September 13, 2023: 6:00 - 8:00 PM
The Society of Minority Managers' Corporate Networking Reception is an event connecting minority students on campus with internship and full-time job opportunities. The purpose of the reception is to inform individuals of these opportunities through a scheduled networking session and over dinner. Students arrive at the event in business professional attire with resumes in hand eager to speak with companies of interest.
Corporate Participates
Thank you for your interest in the 16th annual Society of Minority Managers' (SMM) Corporate Networking Reception. This unique event was the first of its kind on campus where corporate representatives get to interact with students in multiple ways. The first half of the event is a networking reception where over 100 students with diverse racial, ethnic, and educational backgrounds meet with corporate representatives. The last half of the event is a seated dinner, where both corporate representatives and students get to spend ample time together during a buffet dinner. Each company will have its own table, and participating students will be assigned a seat at dinner according to corporate recruiting needs.
Why Participate?
The SMM Corporate Networking Reception is a great way to promote internship and full-time job opportunities to minority students at Purdue.
Most of the students in attendance are business majors enrolled in a Top 25 undergraduate business school. Some of the best young business minds in the country will be in attendance.
With the School of Business undergraduate career fair beginning the next morning, participating in the networking reception allows you to engage with top talent before other companies the following day.

Logistics
The SMM Corporate Networking Reception is held at the North Ballroom within the Purdue Memorial Union: 101 S Grant Street; West Lafayette, Indiana, 47906. Parking for the reception is located at Grant Street Parking Garage, displayed within the campus map.

Important Information Regarding the 2023 SMM Corporate Networking Reception:
This year's reception will be held on Wednesday evening, September 13th.
It is imperative that you arrive by 6:00 p.m. Please be on time.
This event requires business professional attire. Please dress appropriately.
Bring at least 30 copies of your resume to the reception. Be sure to bring a pen and padfolio (to store your resumes) as well.
Who can participate?
Any current Purdue University student with interests in working for one of our corporate participants.
