Welcome to the homepage of Soft and Adaptive Materials Laboratory at the SCM Group, Raman Research Institute, Bangalore.

Our lab takes an interdisciplinary approach to come up with design strategies for tuneable soft materials whose mechanical and dynamical properties can be reversibly manipulated by an applied force. Employing experimental techniques like shear rheology, in-situ imaging, optical and electron microscopy combined with various image processing and statistical methods, we try to understand the fundamental physics governing the force response over a broad range of spatiotemporal scales in these systems.

*Open positions in the lab*

Every year we look for one / two motivated students to join our lab for PhD program.  For more information,  please visit  PhD program at RRI

Interested post-doctoral candidates with backgrounds that fit into the research direction of the lab can write to me directly for a possible position in the group. For details please visit post-doc fellowships at RRI

**There is currently an opening for a post-doc position in the lab (From April 2023)**

Undergraduate students can also contact me for project positions in my lab, although the number of such positions is very limited.

To have an idea about the research directions our lab is interested in, please visit the Research Projects section or contact me directly.
