About Me

Smitha A. obtained a Ph.D. from the Department of Mathematics and Computational Sciences, NITK, Surathkal in 2022. Her research title is "Retinal disorders detection and analysis from fundus and optical coherence tomography images using deep learning models." She worked under the guidance of Dr. Jidesh P. and the collaborators were Dr. Jothi J. Balaji, Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai, and Prof. Vasudevan Lakshminarayanan, University of Waterloo, Canada.

She is a passionate and dedicated professional interested in advancing artificial intelligence and its transformative applications. With hands-on experience in Python, Keras, & Matlab, she worked on Data cleaning, Image analysis, and Classification problems. She has an overall 11+ years of experience in research, academics (9 years), and Data Science (1.5 years in industry and 3 years during Ph.D.)
