Reut (Ray) Segall

I was born in Rehovot in Israel and am a cum laude graduate of The University of Ben Gurion in Beer Sheva, one of Israel’s top research universities.

My family and I moved to New Jersey in 2018 and since then I have been leading dance in the MetroWest area at gyms, schools, summer camps, temples, and private events.

Dance has always been a huge part of my life and I am trained in Classical Ballet, Modern Jazz, Hip-Hop, and Zumba.

I have been the dance specialist for Tamarack Day Camp in Randolph NJ for the past two years and have inspired many children ages 2- 13 to experience the joy and expression of dance.

My participants claim that I have infectious energy, and an Israeli Chutzpah personality, along with my Yemenite heritage make my classes fun.

I take pride in providing my participants with the context behind the music and introducing the nostalgic dances alongside the newer ones, especially when working with young adults and school kids.

The Sababa Program I created for preschoolers was born during my 3 years of teaching at a preschool because I wanted to make learning a fun experience even toddlers enjoy.

I am passionate about teaching Israeli dance and see evidence that the connection between music and movement enhances the learning of the Hebrew language, Jewish values, and the connection with Israeli culture.

Dance has the power to unite us as a people and a community, as it brings together the culture, wisdom, emotion, and history passed down to us by our ancestors.

I volunteered for events to benefit Wise Animal Shelter in 2020, the children of the Kiwanis Foundation in 2020 and 2021, and Ukraine in 2022 in Zumba events.

During Purim 2022, I led the Israeli Tzofim community in a family dance and the Livingston Israeli Committee on Israeli Dance for Yom Ha’Atzmaut 2022.

In 2024 I led an event named "Israel Moves Me" to benefit Israel and our local community through movement classes for all ages.
