Privacy Policy for Smile Swipe

Information we collect

Smile Swipe can be played without an account. If a player chooses to join Smile League, we create an anonymous account and store a generated Smile Name, avatar, submitted scores, and account activity dates through our service provider, Supabase. We do not ask players for their real name, email address, or phone number to join. The app does not request access to contacts, photographs, audio recordings, advertising identifiers, device's location, or health information. We do not sell player data or share it for advertising.

Information stored on your device

The game stores your personal best score on your device. It also stores your age-selection result to determine whether Smile League is available. Your exact age and birth date are not sent to our leaderboard server. Removing the app or clearing its data may remove this locally stored information.

Optional Smile League

Smile League is available only to players who indicate that they are at least 14 years old. Joining is optional and does not require an email address, phone number, or password.

If you join, our service provider, Supabase, creates a randomly generated anonymous account identifier. We store that identifier with your generated child-friendly Smile Name, avatar, leaderboard best scores, and dates needed to operate the league and manage inactive accounts. Your Smile Name, avatar, rank, and score may be visible to other players. We use this information only to run Smile League and its two-week competitions.

The anonymous account is stored on your device so you can use it again. It is not based on your phone number or device advertising ID. If you uninstall the app or clear its data, you may lose access to that account; uninstalling alone does not immediately delete its server data.

Sharing a score

This button will only show at game over screen if the player selected that they are at least 14 years old. If you choose to use the Share button, your device’s share menu lets you decide where to send a message containing your score and a Smile Swipe challenge link. We do not choose the recipient. Opening the challenge website may involve ordinary website connection information, such as an IP address, being processed by the website host, Cloudflare.

How long we keep data

Smile League runs in two-week rounds. We keep leaderboard scores for the current round and the immediately previous round. Older round scores are removed by a daily cleanup process. This means a score is not kept for exactly four weeks from the day it was submitted.

We delete an anonymous Smile League account and its associated profile and remaining scores after six months without opening Smile League or submitting a score. Opening the game without visiting Smile League does not reset this inactivity period.

Account and data deletion

You can delete your Smile League account from the Smile League screen in the app by clicking the vertical three dots next to your username and selecting delete. Deletion removes your anonymous account, Smile Name, avatar, and associated leaderboard scores and cannot be undone.

If you no longer have access to the app, you can request deletion using our Smile Swipe account deletion page or email lonely.codey@gmail.com. Because accounts do not use email addresses, we may need enough information to verify which anonymous account is yours before acting on an outside-the-app request. Please do not send a child’s personal details or a screenshot containing unrelated private information.

Advertising and analytics

Smile Swipe does not contain advertisements, third-party analytics, behavioral tracking, or in-app purchases.

Children’s privacy

Smile Swipe is designed for children, teens and adults. Players under 14 can play the game without joining Smile League. Smile League and share button is completely inaccessible if a player selected an age below 14 in the setup screen after initial download.
