SOUTH MILWAUKEE HIGH SCHOOL ROCKET MARCHING BAND
COLOR GUARD
COLOR GUARD
The High School Color Guard is part of the South Milwaukee High School Rocket Marching Band. Our season officially runs from August through mid-October, with the South Milwaukee Heritage Days Parade in July.
No skills are needed to begin Color Guard. Students will be taught to perform at a high level of artistry. In order to be prepared for the Fall season, Color Guard members will start skill rehearsals typically in July.
Color Guard is a unique activity group, and open to all South Milwaukee High School students in grades 9-12.
Color Guard is a visual ensemble in the South Milwaukee High School Rocket Marching Band, which combines precision marching and body movement with flag and other auxiliary equipment drill work.
Students interested in the arts (music, theatre, dance, and visual arts), and those who like to be physically active and enjoy performing for an audience, will find the Color Guard a great outlet for their creative talents.
Color Guard performances can vary from an indoor winter guard or outdoor field shows and parades.
At the High School, performance includes marching with the band for parades and in field show for home football game half-time. The Color Guard may also perform as a separate entity in other types of performances.
