The number of people working in the area of soft matter and chemical physics in and around Kolkata has been quite substantial. It would be beneficial if such people can gather at a regular interval to exchange ideas. This may not only open up the possibility of joint activities, but also boost younger students to choose research in these areas in their future careers.

With this in mind, we organize at the S. N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, Kolkata a one-day gathering of people in the field of soft matter and chemical physics in and around Kolkata on 15th September, 2018.

The meeting will consist of short (12+3 minutes) presentations and posters.
