Physical Sciences - Online Lab Manual
The On-Line Lab Manual serves as your text for the lab portion of this course. There is no fee to use this manual. It can be accessed from any computer (campus, home) with an Internet connection and web browser. You must visit this site at least once a week before your scheduled lab in order to:
carefully read through the experiment to be performed.
look up information on equipment, materials and special techniques required for the experiment.
complete your pre-lab assignment (if given one).
print out hard copies of the experiment to be performed and the data sheet for the experiment.
Printing
Printable copies of all procedures and report forms for each lab activity are available in PDF format. In order to open and print them, you must have the software Adobe Acrobat Reader. This software is already installed on all SMC campus computers. You can download Adobe Acrobat Reader to your home computer for free from the Adobe website.
SMC Campus Computers
All registered Santa Monica College students have access to computers at various locations on campus. In order to use these computers, you must first have an SMC student email account. View a listing of all Computer Centers and their hours of operation.
The SMC Virtual Computer Lab is a service that lets SMC students in certain classes access real SMC specialized computer labs over the Internet. You must be enrolled in an appropriate class for the current semester in progress.
