Ghanshyam Sarda, an Indian businessman, was born in Calcutta in August 1959. He is the proprietor of the Sarda Group of Industries, which primarily serves the jute and IT sectors. The Sarda Group owns Axsys Technologies, Vision Comptech, Agarpara Jute Mill, and Alwar Jute Mill. He also owns the Chandakala Devi Trust, which is a philanthropic trust.

Expansion strategy

The Sarda Group has grown to become a pan-Indian player in the jute goods manufacturing industry. The JK Jute Mills in Kanpur have been purchased by the Group. The production facility is now closer to the customer thanks to this unit. The mill orders large quantities of jute bags from Uttar Pradesh's sugar mills. Sarda has advocated for the beginning of skill improvement among industry workers. He emphasized that the sector would be able to meet the need for eco-friendly items made of natural fibers with the development of capabilities. Sarda Group of Industries recently launched an initiative to support jute workers in taking charge of their own health for their own benefit.

After being purchased, the Kanpur mill, which can produce The Sarda group can now produce 560 tons of jute goods per day (TPD), up from 120 tons per day previously. The business has established operations in Bihar, Orissa, and Andhra Pradesh in addition to its seven jute mills in Bengal. In addition to developing a facility in Tamil Nadu, the group is establishing a mill in Rajasthan.

GIC Housing saw a 4% investment from the Sarda Group, which described it as a long-term venture. "The global trend shows a great future for the housing finance companies," stated Ghanshyam Sarda. The new West Bengal government, headed by Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, has been encouraging businesses to open stores and development centers in Bengal with its pro-investor stance.
