Most failed redemptions are not failures at all — the code was never entered in the right place. On SmartScout, the promo or coupon field sits on the payment or subscription-confirmation step, and it is often collapsed behind a small link such as 'add promo code' or 'have a code?' next to the order total. If you are staring at a card form with no obvious box, look for that link first.
Two places the code definitely does not work: Amazon Seller Central, and a support ticket. PCT25 is a checkout-side code applied during the SmartScout signup flow, nowhere else.
If the discount is not showing, walk the flow again from the beginning rather than trying to patch it mid-way:
Go to smartscout.com and open the pricing page.
Pick the plan and the billing period, then start signup.
Create an account with an email and password.
On the payment or subscription-confirmation step, open the promo/coupon field.
Type PCT25 exactly, with no spaces, and apply it.
Check that the displayed total has dropped by 25% before you submit any card details.
Step six is the real test. The code has not worked until the order total visibly changes. Do not assume it will be applied silently after payment.
Stray spaces or characters. Copying the code from a page can drag a trailing space with it. Type the six characters manually.
Another code is already in the field. Promo codes on subscription checkouts do not stack. PCT25 replaces any other code, so remove whatever is sitting there and apply PCT25 on its own.
You are past checkout. Adding the code after checkout, through billing settings, is rarely straightforward. If you have already paid without it, that is the harder path.
You never reached the confirmation step. Some signups stall at account creation. The promo field only appears at the payment or subscription-confirmation stage.
PCT25 gives 25% off the first three months. It is not a permanent price change, and it is a percentage rather than a fixed amount, so the absolute saving scales with the plan you chose. Against the published tiers, that means a smaller cash saving on Basic at $29/month than on Essentials at $97/month or Business at $187/month. Enterprise is custom-priced.
If the total drops by something other than 25%, check which line the reduction is attached to. Annual billing carries its own advertised discounts, described in the mid-teens to low-twenties percent per tier, with 23% published for paying annually on Essentials. A discount already showing on an annual plan may be the billing-period discount rather than the code.
Whether monthly billing with PCT25 or annual billing works out cheaper depends on the tier and how long you stay subscribed. The knowledge available does not settle that; the totals shown at checkout are the thing to compare. If you are troubleshooting, switch the billing period on the pricing page, re-enter the code, and read the two totals side by side before committing.
You have one safety net: a 7-day money-back guarantee. That is the documented recourse, and it is what makes an early mistake recoverable rather than permanent. Retrying the signup flow cleanly and applying the code at the confirmation step is more reliable than trying to retro-fit a code through billing settings.
One related point that is not confirmed either way: upgrading plans later is described as 'usually possible', but that is not stated definitively. If your tier choice is part of the problem — for example, you picked Basic and then realised you need the Search Terms and Sellers databases or the AI Listing Creator on Essentials — treat the plan decision as something to get right at signup rather than something you can certainly change afterwards.
Before you press the final button, confirm three things: the plan and billing period are the ones you intended, the promo field shows PCT25 with no other code alongside it, and the total on screen is 25% lower than the list price for that period. If all three hold, the redemption has gone through correctly.
