INTRODUCTION
A GPH Library – Smart Library Management System is a web-based software application designed to automate and simplify library operations in a digital format. Traditional library management methods are often time-consuming and prone to errors, so this system provides an efficient and user-friendly solution for managing books, student records, and borrow/return activities.
The project is developed using Flask, Python, MySQL, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and Pandas for Excel integration. It supports three roles: Administrator, Teacher Portal, and Student, each with separate dashboards and functionalities. Administrators can manage books, students, and requests, while students can search books, borrow or return them, and receive notifications.
The system follows a three-tier architecture consisting of the user interface, backend logic, and database layer, ensuring scalability and maintainability. It also includes secure login authentication, forgot password functionality, error handling, and real-time database updates.
By automating library tasks, the system reduces manual work, improves accuracy, and provides a faster and more transparent library experience for both staff and students.
