This Privacy Policy applies to Smart Transfer – Data Transfer (hereby referred to as the "Application") for mobile devices that was created by Gwal Apps (hereby referred to as the "Service Provider") as a Free service. This service is intended for use "AS IS".
The Application may access certain device information, files, media, contacts, and network capabilities that are necessary to provide its core data transfer and device-to-device sharing features.
Depending on the features you use and the permissions you grant, the Application may process:
Photos and images stored on your device
Videos stored on your device
Audio files
Documents and other supported files
Contacts when you choose to transfer or manage them
Wi-Fi and nearby-device information required for device pairing
QR codes when you use QR-based pairing
Device and application information required for functionality, advertising, configuration, and billing
The Application does not sell, rent, or trade your personal photos, videos, audio files, documents, contacts, or other personal files to third parties.
Smart Transfer – Data Transfer requires access to device storage and media where necessary to provide its file and data transfer functionality.
Depending on your Android version and the permissions you grant, the Application may access photos, videos, audio files, documents, and other supported files stored on your device.
Storage and media access may be used to:
Allow you to select files for transfer
Read files selected for transfer
Send selected files to another device
Receive transferred files
Save received files to the appropriate storage location
Display files available for selection and transfer
The Application does not intentionally upload your personal files to the Service Provider's servers as part of its normal device-to-device transfer functionality.
The Application may request access to contacts when you choose to transfer or manage contacts.
Contact permissions may be used to:
Read and display contacts available for selection
Allow you to select contacts for transfer
Support transferring or restoring selected contacts
Support contact cleanup functionality, including deletion of contacts when you explicitly use such functionality
The Application does not sell or use your contacts for advertising purposes.
The Application may use Wi-Fi and nearby-device capabilities to establish a connection between devices.
These capabilities may be used to:
Check Wi-Fi status
Discover or connect to another device
Establish a local connection for data transfer
Start or manage a local hotspot when required
Support nearby-device pairing
Transfer data directly between participating devices
The Application is designed to use local device-to-device connectivity for supported transfers and does not require your personal files to be uploaded to the Service Provider's servers for normal local transfers.
On certain Android versions, Android may require location-related permissions for Wi-Fi discovery, scanning, or pairing functionality.
If requested, ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION and/or ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION may be used only to support Wi-Fi discovery, pairing, or related Android networking functionality.
The Application does not use these permissions to continuously track your physical location or create a location history.
The Application may request camera permission to scan QR codes used for device pairing.
Camera access is used when you choose to use QR-code pairing functionality.
The Application does not use the camera for continuous monitoring or recording.
We respect your privacy and comply with applicable privacy requirements, including the EU ePrivacy Directive and GDPR where applicable.
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the Application may request consent for the use of personal data, advertising identifiers, cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for advertising purposes.
Where applicable, the consent message allows you to choose between personalized and non-personalized advertising.

This permission may be used to display relevant notifications, including transfer progress, transfer completion, and other supported Application notifications.
Notifications are displayed only when notification permission is granted where required by Android.
This permission is used to scan QR codes for device pairing when you choose to use the QR-code pairing feature.
On supported Android versions, this permission is used for nearby Wi-Fi device discovery and pairing required to establish a connection between devices for data transfer.
On older supported Android versions, this permission may be used to read photos, videos, documents, and other supported files that you select for transfer.
This is a legacy storage permission and its behavior depends on the Android version.

The Application may request All Files Access where broader storage access is required for its core device-to-device data transfer and device migration functionality.
This access may be used to:
Access supported files and folders across relevant shared-storage locations during a device transfer
Read supported data required for the transfer
Transfer supported files and data from the source device to the destination device
Receive and save transferred data to appropriate storage locations
Support the transfer of documents and other supported file types that are not covered by media-specific permissions
All Files Access is used only for the Application's core device-transfer and migration functionality. It is not used to collect, upload, sell, or share users' personal files for advertising or unrelated purposes.
The Application does not intentionally upload users' personal files to the Service Provider's servers as part of normal device-to-device transfers.
This permission is used when you choose to access, review, select, or transfer contacts through the Application.
This permission may be used to create, restore, or delete contacts when you explicitly use supported contact-management or cleanup functionality.
This permission allows the Application to determine whether a network connection is available.
It may also be used by application services and SDKs such as Firebase to support network-dependent functionality.
The Advertising ID may be accessed by Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) and related advertising services for advertising, measurement, attribution, and related purposes, subject to applicable consent and user settings.
This permission is used by Google Play Billing to support optional in-app purchases or subscriptions offered through the Application.
The Application uses Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) to display advertisements.
AdMob and its advertising partners may process information such as advertising identifiers, IP address, device information, application information, network information, and advertising interactions for advertising and measurement purposes.
Advertising may be personalized or non-personalized depending on applicable privacy requirements, user consent, and available settings.

The Application may use Google's consent management functionality, including the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP), where applicable, to manage advertising consent requirements.

The Application may offer optional in-app purchases or subscriptions through Google Play Billing.
Payments and transaction processing are handled by Google Play.
The Service Provider does not directly collect or store your credit card, debit card, bank account, or other payment credentials.
The Application uses a foreground service, including the dataSync foreground service type where applicable, to perform active file transfers.
The transfer service may:
Send files
Receive files
Maintain an active transfer
Display transfer progress
Notify you when a transfer is completed
The foreground service is used for active transfer operations and is not intended for continuous background tracking.

The Service Provider does not sell your personal information, files, photos, videos, audio files, documents, or contacts.

Application diagnostics and related services
Personal files and contacts selected for local transfer are used to perform the transfer between the participating devices.
The Service Provider does not intentionally maintain a server-side database containing your personal photos, videos, audio files, documents, contacts, or other files transferred through the Application as part of its normal device-to-device transfer functionality.
Files and contacts remain on your devices unless you choose to transfer, restore, save, delete, or otherwise manage them.
Information processed by third-party services may be retained according to their respective privacy policies and retention practices.
You may control the Application's access to certain information through your Android device settings.
Depending on your Android version, you may:
Revoke storage or media permissions
Manage All Files Access
Manage contacts permissions
Disable camera access
Disable location permissions
Manage nearby-device permissions
Disable notification permission
Manage advertising identifier settings
Manage advertising consent choices
Uninstall the Application
Restricting permissions required by a particular feature may prevent that feature from functioning correctly.
The Service Provider values the security of your information.
The Application is designed to use device permissions and third-party services only as necessary to provide its functionality.
Data transferred between devices is intended to be transmitted through the connection established for the transfer.
However, no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Users should only transfer data between devices and networks that they trust.
The Application is not intended to knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13.
The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information through the Application, please contact us.
The Service Provider may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
Any changes will be reflected by updating the effective date shown at the beginning of this Privacy Policy.
