No account, no sign-in, and no servers of ours.
The list of apps on your phone is read on the device and never transmitted.
The app is free and shows ads from Google AdMob. Google collects advertising data of its own — section 6 says exactly what.
We hold no personal information about you, so there is none to sell.
Smart Software Update Checker Checker is an Android utility that checks which of the apps installed on your phone have a newer version published on Google Play, and provides the device tools that go with that: system update information, an app manager, a bulk uninstaller, a list of apps you previously removed, screen time, per-app data usage, battery information, device information and a permission review.
This policy describes the app exactly as published. If the app's behaviour changes, this page is updated first.
The app never installs anything. Android gives no third-party app that ability. Every app update is handed to the Google Play Store, and the system update button opens your phone's own updater. This app only tells you what appears to be out of date.
Nothing.
There is no account, no sign-in and no server belonging to us. We do not receive your name, your email address, your device identifiers, your location, or the list of apps you have installed. We cannot, because none of it is ever sent anywhere we control.
Everything in this section is read on your phone, used on your phone, and stays on your phone.
Your installed apps — each app's name, package name, version, install and update dates, size, and which store installed it. This is the core function: without it there is nothing to check, nothing to list and nothing to uninstall.
The permissions each app requests — used only to produce the on-device permission review. No verdict is sent anywhere.
Screen time and per-app network totals — only if you switch on Usage access yourself. See section 5.
Battery and device information that Android makes available to any app — model, Android version, storage, memory, screen and similar.
Your settings — theme, reminder preference, the record of apps you uninstalled so the Restore list can show them, and a cache of the dates Google Play publishes.
All of it lives in this app's private storage on your device, and is removed when you clear the app's data or uninstall it.
Only three kinds of network request are made, all of them to Google.
When you tap Scan for updates, the app requests the ordinary public Google Play listing page for each installed app — the same page anyone can open in a browser — and reads one thing from it: the Updated on date. That date is then compared, on your device, with the date your copy of the app was last updated.
What this sends to Google is the package name being looked up, inside a normal web request (which, like any web request, carries your IP address and a user-agent string). We add no identifier of our own, no list is sent, and nothing comes back to us.
Described in section 6.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google's User Messaging Platform shows you a consent form before any ad is requested. Your answer is stored on your device.
The app also uses Google Firebase: Analytics (how the app's own screens are used),
Crashlytics (crash reports) and Performance Monitoring. These send diagnostic and
usage information about this app to Google on our behalf. They are how we find out
that something is broken. They never carry the list of apps installed on your phone.
There is no other network traffic, and no backend belonging to us: everything above goes to Google, not to a server we operate.
Lets the app see every app installed on your device. This is the product itself — the update check, app manager, bulk uninstaller, unused-apps list and permission review are all views of that one list. It is used on the device only and is never transmitted.
Not a normal permission: no dialog can ask for it, and you switch it on yourself in Android Settings. It powers screen time, unused apps, the battery-usage ranking, per-app data usage, and more accurate app sizes. The app works without it. You can revoke it at any time under Android Settings → Apps → Special app access → Usage access. The resulting statistics are read on your device and never transmitted.
Lets the app show Android's own uninstall confirmation when you choose to remove an app. Nothing is ever removed without you confirming it in a system dialog.
Needed for the requests described in section 4, and to tell you when you are offline.
Only for the optional reminder that your apps may have fallen behind. You can refuse it, or switch the reminder off in the app's Settings.
Required by Google's ads library. See section 6.

This app is free and is funded by advertising supplied by Google AdMob. Ads appear as a banner on screens, occasionally between screens, when the app opens, and in the confirmation sheet shown when you leave the app.
To serve those ads, Google may collect and process information including your device's advertising ID, IP address, device type and operating system, and how you interact with the ads shown. We do not receive that information, and we never send Google anything about which apps you have installed.

In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, a consent form appears before the first ad. You can change your answer later from Ad privacy options in the app's Settings.
On any device you can reset or delete your advertising ID, and turn off ad personalisation, in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
The app contains no in-app purchase and no subscription. Google's Play Billing library is bundled inside the package but is not configured;
this version sells nothing. If in-app purchases are added in a future version, this
policy will be updated before that version is published. Firebase is configured and active — see the Firebase section above.
If either is enabled in a future version, this policy will be updated before that version is published.
Smart Software Update Checker is a general-purpose utility. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through this app, write to us and we will act on it.
We hold no data about you, so there is nothing for us to retain or delete. Everything the app stores lives on your own device, and is removed when you clear the app's data (Android Settings → Apps → Smart Software Update Checker → Storage → Clear data) or uninstall the app.
Information collected by Google through advertising is held by Google under its own policy, linked in section 6.
Every network request the app makes uses HTTPS. Because no personal information is collected, sent to us, or stored outside your device, there is no account to be breached and no database of users to expose.
If the app's behaviour changes in a way that affects this policy, the policy is updated and the date at the top changes. Material changes are also described in the app's release notes on Google Play.
