Dr. Yeonsoo Jang is a registered nurse and educator with extensive experience in research, teaching, and professional leadership roles. Her research centers on improving the health and well-being of individuals with chronic illnesses, especially those related to liver disease. Dr. Jang has secured several research grants from the National Research Foundation of Korea, demonstrating her commitment to advancing knowledge in these areas. Her research has significantly contributed to understanding the impact of liver diseases such as chronic hepatitis B, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), and cirrhosis on patients' lives. She has particularly focused on developing effective self-management programs for individuals with liver diseases, aiming to empower them to manage their health conditions, prevent complications, and improve their quality of life. Dr. Jang has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals, sharing her findings with the broader scientific community. Her research addresses critical issues in patient care, including self-management strategies, the development of interventions, and the evaluation of healthcare delivery systems.
Her academic achievements include a doctorate in nursing from The Catholic University of America, a master's degree from Yonsei University, and a baccalaureate degree in nursing from the same institution. She has held various academic leadership positions at Yonsei University, including Associate Dean for Research, Department Director in the Graduate Program, Associate Professor, and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs. Her dedication to education is reflected in her rich teaching experience in both undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. Notably, she has a strong focus on enhancing self-management abilities in patients, a core value that permeates her research and educational endeavors.
