Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: How do I start using SmartFlash?
A: After downloading SmartFlash, you can explore free AI-generated flashcards right away. To unlock premium features, consider subscribing.
Q2: What’s the difference between creating a single card and a stack of cards?
A: On the Home tab, you can:
• Create a Single Card: Tap “Create a Card,” enter a word or a prompt (e.g., “emotions that start with S”), and either manually fill in details like the definition, examples, and pronunciation or use the AI Generate button for automatic content generation.
• Create a Stack of Cards: Tap “Create a Stack of Cards” and provide a command-based prompt (e.g., “words about general emotions”). Adjust the number of cards using the slider. A list of generated words will appear, and you can tap the X to remove any word before saving. For stacks, editing individual cards is unavailable.
Q3: How do I delete a single flashcard?
A: In the Review tab, while viewing a card, tap the Trashcan icon to delete it. Be aware that deleted cards cannot be recovered.
Q4: Can I delete all cards within a specific category?
A: Yes. Go to All Categories and press and hold the category you wish to delete. A menu will appear, allowing you to either rename or delete the entire category. Deleting a category permanently removes all cards within it.
Q5: How do I review my flashcards?
A: Go to the Review tab and select the review section that best suits your needs. You’ll see cards organized into various statuses, like “Most Forgotten” or “Mastered.” While reviewing each card:
• Swipe Right if you know the card.
• Swipe Left if you forgot the card.
• Swipe Up if you’ve mastered the card.
Q6: Can I listen to the pronunciation of a word?
A: Yes. Tap the Speaker icon on each card to hear its pronunciation during your review.
Q7: How do I edit a flashcard?
A: While reviewing a card, tap the Pencil icon to make changes. You can update the word’s definition, examples, or any other details as needed.
Q8: How do I track my progress?
A: Go to the Progress tab, where you’ll find a visual chart displaying your learning achievements. Tap any section of the chart (e.g., “Mastered,” “Forgotten”) for details on the number of cards in each category.
Q9: Can I view all flashcards in a specific category?
A: Absolutely. In the All Categories tab, select any category to see all the words within it.
Q10: How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
A: Manage or cancel your subscription through your App Store account settings. Go to Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions to cancel or modify your SmartFlash subscription.
Q11: I’m on the free plan. What features are limited or unavailable?
A: Free users can add unlimited flashcards manually but cannot access AI-generated cards. Additionally, the free plan does not include AI-powered card stack generation or progress tracking by category. These premium features unlock enhanced review tools and allow you to generate stacks of cards automatically using AI.
Q12: How do I use the AI to generate cards automatically?
A: When creating a single card, tap AI Generate to fill in the word’s details automatically. For multiple cards, provide a topic prompt, and the AI will generate a list of relevant words. If needed, you can remove unwanted words from the list before saving.
Q13: What if I don’t like the card generated by the AI?
A: For single cards, tap the text fields to edit any details (definition, examples, pronunciation) as you like. For stacks, you can remove specific words from the list but won’t be able to edit individual card content.
Q14: Can I recover my flashcard data if I delete the app or switch devices?
A: Yes. SmartFlash automatically backs up your data to the cloud, allowing you to restore your cards if you reinstall the app or switch devices.
Q15: How does SmartFlash handle privacy and personal data?
A: We take privacy seriously. SmartFlash does not require an account, so your usage remains anonymous. See our Privacy Policy for more details.
