Project overview: Our lab is launching a newly funded project focused on developing technologies for soil-based climate resilience. We evaluate impacts on soil functions, ecosystem services, and biodiversity across agricultural, forest, and urban park systems.We are seeking a talented postdoctoral researcher with strong modeling expertise to lead our predictive modeling efforts. You are expected to develop multi-level conceptual mechanisms—spanning data, soil, and ecosystem scales—to predict impacts under extreme weather conditions and integrate these assessments into a national information service system.
Key responsibilities:
Mechanism development: Advance multi-level predictive frameworks bridging data-soil-ecosystem scales.
Climate impact modeling: Simulate ecosystem responses to extreme weather events (drought, flooding, extreme heat).
Uncertainty quantification: Integrate robust uncertainty protocols into the core modeling pipeline.
Required skills & qualifications:
Ph.D. in Soil Science, Agronomy, or a related field.
Proven experience in land system or agroecological modeling.
Strong programming skills in R, including machine learning applications.
Proficiency in spatial data analysis and geospatial tools (GIS, remote sensing).
Strong track record of peer-reviewed publications and the ability to work effectively within a Korean team environment.
