Carbon Fiber Block

General

Carbon Fiber Blocks are fairly strong blocks that also serve as a compact storage of coal. They are also good building materials. They can also be used to create armor and tools.

Obtaining

Carbon Fiber Blocks are obtained by either crafting 9 Carbon Fiber Ingots, or by smelting an Unrefined Carbon Fiber block. Additionally, 9 Carbon Fiber Ingots can be compressed in an IC2 Compressor to create a Carbon Fiber block.

Carbon Fiber Blocks are crafted with 9 Carbon Fiber Ingots.

Carbon Fiber Blocks can be obtained by smelting Unrefined Carbon Fiber Blocks.

9 Carbon Fiber Ingots can be compressed to make 1 Carbon Fiber Block.

Usage

Carbon Fiber blocks are used as compact coal storage (18 coal per block). They are also used as crafting ingredients in Carbon Fiber Tools and Armor.

Explosive Resistance

Carbon Fiber blocks are pretty resistant to explosions. A comparison of a Creeper blast when the Creeper is in a Cobblestone structure vs. a Carbon Fiber structure is shown below. All tests were conducted with Difficulty on Easy, with an IC2 Electric Jetpack used for the overhead shots.
