Sanderson Lab

I have been a professor of Biology at William & Mary since 1992. I also served as Dean of Graduate Studies & Research in Arts & Sciences from 2005-2012, and Interim Chair of the Biology Department from 2020-2021.

Education: B.A., Zoology, University of Hawaii, 1981; M.A., Biology, Harvard University, 1984; Ph.D., Biology, Harvard University, 1987.

Research areas: Vertebrate functional morphology; fish ecology and biomechanics; functional ecology of filter-feeding vertebrates.
