Requirements

This is a free and open service for everyone. To keep it nice and tidy, we need some house rules.

It is important to note: This is intended to promote roleplaying, not for advertising.  Listings should be aimed to welcome visitors to locations, with the intention to roleplay, not to spend lindens. If the information submitted looks and sounds like a sales pitch, it won't be posted.

We don't require to promote the listing in order to be featured, but we highly recommend and appreciate it.

 To have a Location or Community on the directory: (Must meet all)

1. Must have an established physical location InWorld, and must be accessible to the general public. (no ban lines on public spaces)

2. Location must cater and/or be dedicated to a form of roleplay listed on the Directory.

3. The location must be open and operational.  Example: Not closed for construction or empty building.

4. Roleplay Associations, Clubs and Organizations welcomed. Inworld location required (HQ, Hangout, Meeting area, etc).

5. Roleplay business welcomed:

• Cannot sell product(s), offer rentals/land sales, or offer service(s) for payments as the main purpose.

• Can accept tips, but tips cannot be required.

• Cannot be mainly promoting a Second Life or real business. (promoting a business that is 100% for profit)

6.  If non-roleplay business present, must not be the primary focus or purpose of the location:

• Non-roleplay business is only a portion of the location and not the main reason of the location.

• Locations must have areas and/or services not dedicated to non-roleplay business.

• Location cannot be a dedicated store, mall, advertisement area, or commercial event.

• Spaces could reasonably be used for roleplaying at no cost.

• The location cannot only offer rentals or land sales. Business cannot be the focus of the location.

• Example: Can be communities with homes and business space rentals, as long as it has public facilities.

7. Must not be using land in an illegal or improper way. (Squatting, in a sandbox, in a "Linden Homes" parcel, in protected land)

8. Locations that are Linden owned, but managed by roleplay oriented groups (such as Bay City), are accepted by principle.

9. Must not be duplicate. Locations can be in a same region as long as they have a different purpose. Must be a different landing.

10. Location must comply with Second Life TOS.

11. Location must remain in compliance of these requirements.

12. Must provide complete and accurate information on the Submit Request. The information should not feel or look like a sales pitch.

To remove a location from the directory: (Must meet at-least one)

1. Must have violated or not be in compliance with the requirements listed above this section.

2. Must have closed, been removed, or stopped existing on the location.

3. A verifiable owner of the location has requested the removal.

4. A verifiable active Linden Lab / Second Life employee has requested the removal.

5. A considerable amount of removal request has been received claiming:

• Location is offensive or unwelcoming.

• Location is linked to scam(s) or other illegalities.

• Location is not roleplay related.

• Location does not comply with our requirements.

Second Life Group Chat Rules:

1. No spam, scams, or begging.

2. No swearing or insulting.

3. No clear promotions of any type. Recommendations and conversations about locations and services are allowed.

4. Prevent controversial topics such as politics and religion. 

5. Keep content family friendly. Adult topics are prohibited.

6. Comply with Second Life TOS.

Page administration will adhere to these rules when adding and removing entries on the listing.  These might change when necessary. If these rules change, it will be listed here for transparency.
