The Parent Action Council (PAC) serves as a district parental engagement organization, in partnership with the Office of Family and Community Engagement, the SLPS Parent Liaison, and individual Parent Teacher Organizations. PAC is open to all parents, guardians, and families of St. Louis Public Schools students and meets once a month.
The mission of the Parent Action Council of Saint Louis Public Schools is to support equitable educational opportunities in a thriving district by advocating for positive change, increased funding and resources for students, and building bridges with SLPS administration to improve the experience of all SLPS families.
Establish communication with Family Support Specialists and key contacts in every school to ensure all parents and families are aware of PAC
Ensure all parents and caregivers feel welcome and safe within PAC
Advocate and be a voice for parents and caregivers that do not have access to traditional PTO channels
Support Board of Education legislative priorities and protect SLPS funding at local & state levels
Empower parents and families to advocate for their needs at the district, local, and state levels
Encourage and support family engagement in collaboration with staff and community partners at all SLPS schools
Support and assist parents and caregivers interested in starting a PTO at their child(ren)'s school
