If you are a St. Louis Park Buy Nothing member planning to participate in the gifting part of the Spring 2026 event and would like to have your location included on our map and address list, fill out the registration form* by Sunday, April 26. We are unable to accommodate late additions after that date.
Reminder: The map will be shared publicly.
*The link for the registration form has been shared in the four St. Louis Park Buy Nothing groups and the Chat group, and was emailed to all past participants on March 27. If you are unable to find it, email organizers here.
Signage
We encourage all gifters to post signage to let people know you are participating, even if you are not on the map. This creates an inviting environment for everyone and helps reduce items accidentally being taken from non-participating homes.

Frequently asked questions
Can people who are not part of Buy Nothing participate in gifting?
Yes, absolutely! However, only members of the four SLP Buy Nothing groups will be invited to be on the map.
I live in a multiunit building and cannot set things out at my location, but would still like to participate, what are my options?
The best suggestion is to post an ask in your local Buy Nothing group to see if anyone nearby will be participating and if you could bring items to their location. Be sure to establish a plan for what will be done with any of your items that are not gifted.
Can I add a traditional garage sale component and sell stuff at my location?
No. Since we will be promoting this event in our Buy Nothing groups, anyone participating must be gifting all items in the spirit of Buy Nothing. If you plan to have any items for sale (regardless of the reason), please do not put your location on the map or post the Curb-tacular sign. Thanks!
The event is over and I still have stuff at my curb, what do I do with it?
The items left at your curb are your responsibility at the end of the event. If the weather is nice, some participants leave items out into the evening or the next day, but at some point, you will need to clear anything remaining from the curb. The following are suggestions for where to donate or drop off your items. Please be sure to check guidelines to ensure items are accepted.
Donation
Better Futures - Nonprofit in Minneapolis accepting building materials.
Bridging - Nonprofit with locations in Plymouth, Bloomington, and Roseville accepting furniture, kitchen items, linens, towels.
Old School thrift store - Nonprofit in Minneapolis accepting decor, kitchen items, jewelry, clothing (in-season only).
Thrift Haus - For-profit in St. Louis Park accepting clothing, offers discount coupon for future purchase.
Recycling
Express Metals - Located in Hopkins on Excelsior Boulevard, accepts many types of metals (will pay for most).
Disposal
City of St. Louis Park cleanup event - Curb-tacular is scheduled strategically a week or two before the city-hosted cleanup events. These events are primarily focused on disposal of large/bulky items, but may take some items for donation. Please note, there is a fee for most items.
Hennepin County drop-off facilities - County-run facilities in Brooklyn Park and Bloomington accepting paint, electronics, appliances, mattresses, and more.
