For those students provided with housing, that will be in Ruggles (near 114th Street and Amsterdam). If you arrive on Sunday June 7 between 10am-2pm you should go straight to Ruggles to check in; if you arrive after 2pm you should go to Furnald Hall (on campus, near Broadway and 115th street) to check in. All rooms are single occupancy, with shared bathroom and common areas. Bedding and towels are provided and must be returned upon checkout (rooms must be vacated by noon on June 20).
There are currently restrictions on campus access which requires some planning.
For those staying in the dorms, when you arrive on June 7, please bring a copy of your housing information. You will also receive a QR code for campus access on June 7. Either of these should suffice for getting you on campus if you need to pick up your housing and ID materials from Furnald Hall (which can only be accessed once on campus). On subsequent days, make sure to bring your Columbia issued ID for campus acccess.
For those not staying in the dorms, you will not receive a Columbia issued ID (though will receive a Flex dining card). As such, you will enter campus using a QR code which will be sent to you and valid for the full duration of the school. You must bring this code (e.g. on your phone) and an ID.
In general, not all gates will be open at all times. The surest bets are the 116th street and Broadway or Amsterdam gates.
From JFK: Take sky-train to either the subway or LIRR. Eventually make your way to the 1 line subway and get off at 116th street and Broadway station. Note, the 2 and 3 lines also have a 116th street station, but it is not on Broadway and if you are on the 2 or 3 lines, you should transfer at 96th street to the 1 line.
From LGA: Take the M60 bus and get off after it turns on to Broadway at 120th street (there is a stop right after it turns, or one closer to 116th streeet).
From EWR: Take the sky-train to the New Jersey transit stop and then take a train to the last stop, which is NY Penn Station (not Newark Penn Station). From there, transfer to the 1 line subway and take it to 116th street.
All participants funded by SLMath will receive instructions from them about travel reimbursement procedures.
Columbia has provided housing (for those non-local) and dining directly. There will be no reimbursements processed by Columbia.
Either through the Columbia open wifi, or eduroam.
If you need to print, try to follow the instructions on this page.
