Introduction
The 2023-24 school years marks my fifteenth year as an English teacher at Wallenpaupack Area High School in Hawley, PA. I am thankful for the WAHS community and every student and colleague who crosses my path, as I learn something from each one. Currently, I am happily educating students in grades 10-12 and reading a lot of horror and science fiction. As I look to the future, I hope to switch my role to high school or middle school librarian.
This website represents my School Librarianship Master's degree portfolio. It contains artifacts demonstrating how I have met the 2019 ALA/AASL/CAEP School Librarian Preparation Standards and each component within the five standards.
Mission
The WAHS library provides all learners with opportunities, resources, and technologies to develop literacy skills that they can apply throughout their lifetimes for recreational and academic needs.
Vision
Our library will be a welcoming and dynamic space for all learners to use and enjoy. The promotion of reading and research within and beyond the curriculum will help students develop strong information literacy skills and a passion for lifelong learning. Learners will engage with print and digital resources, creative lesson plans, and innovative technologies. Now and in the future, the WAHS community will receive support in locating resources effectively and using them ethically.
