Slip is an expense tracker that works entirely on your phone. We don't collect, receive, sell or share any of your data.
Information you enter
Expenses and income (amount, category, date, note), repeating entries, budgets, your own categories, receipt photos you attach, and settings such as currency, language and reminder time are stored only in the app's private storage on your phone. They are never sent to us or to any server. Slip has no account, no sign-up and no bank connection.
App lock
If you turn on App lock, your PIN is stored on your phone only as a salted one-way hash. Fingerprint or face unlock is handled by Android's own biometric system; Slip never receives your fingerprint or face data.
Receipt photos
You pick photos through Android's system photo picker. Slip only sees the photo you choose, keeps a smaller copy inside the app, and does not use the camera permission.
Notifications
If you turn on the daily reminder, Slip asks for permission to show notifications. The reminder is scheduled on your phone and no data leaves the device.
Backups and sharing
Slip can save a backup file to a place you choose, such as Google Drive; that file is under your control. If Android backup is on for your phone, Android may keep a copy of Slip's data in your own Google account under Google's privacy policy; we cannot see it. When you share a bill (PDF) or a CSV file, you choose the app and the recipient.
Internet, ads and analytics
Slip does not use the internet permission and contains no advertising, analytics, tracking or crash-reporting services.
Children
Slip is a general finance tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Deleting your data
All data lives on your phone. Delete single entries in the app, or remove everything by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling Slip. Backup files you saved elsewhere must be deleted from where you saved them.
Changes to this policy
If a future version changes how data is handled (for example, if ads are added), we will update this page and the date above before that version is released.
