When I have a. lot of orders to make, this is how I set up my kitchen to be as efficient as possible.
I stole this from Rachael Raye, but big tasks call for a garbage bowl! It helps with clean up.
I break my eggs into a small bowl THEN pour it into my mixing bowl. Searching for wayward egg shells is so much easier this way.
A lot of recipes need milk. In my house milk gets drank almost as soon as I buy it. I keep half & half and heavy cream on hand. It can be added to recipes that call for milk and will keep in the fridge longer than milk too.
I have an extra bowl and extra beater for my stand mixer. With that said, I purposefully only have one extra of each. That way I have to wash and reuse them so I'm not left with a big mess.
I go through a TON of flour so I buy it from Sam's by the 25lb bag. This pet food bin (new, not used) is perfect for shoring 25lbs of flour.
My measuring spoons used to be stored in a drawer but they constantly moving around and I had to hunt for what I was looking for. Putting them in a container all together has helped me find them so much easier!
I make my own vanilla extract. Whether you make your own, buy from me, or buy from somewhere else, real extract vs imitation makes such a difference in your baking!
