An introduction course to the basics of art

A program to introduce students to the basics of art (no experience required!)
WHY: Humans need to express themselves and relax; art is an excellent mechanism to do so. Fostering ideas, processes, and thinking methods of art would help people discover the joy of embracing imagination.
WHAT: We aim to cover the basics of art and its purpose. By taking the classes you can enhance your understanding of art while getting introduced to multiple mediums. We can also help you learn about different competitions, examples are Google Doodle and Scholastics awards.
WHERE: In-person classes at the house studios of the teacher. See the "Teachers" page for more information.
WHEN: Classes are open for all summer with each session lasting one hour. See the "Class Schedule" page to decide on your personal class time.
WHO: For everyone who is interested in art and hopes to engage in art. (suggested age 7-13)
** Please make sure to bring your own materials**
Sketching: a sketchbook (type of your choice), pencils (HB, 5B and 2HB), an eraser, and a blending stump
Pastels: a sketchbook and pastels (soft or oil, depending on which you would like to learn)
Acrylic: canvas (size of your choice) and brushes (size 2, 4, 8, and 10)
