What should we do if we sign up to volunteer for an event and then can't make it?

If you can no longer volunteer, please remove yourself from the sign up sheet so someone else has the opportunity to come.  If you don't know how, send an email to sleptsa.volunteercoordinator@gmail.com and asked to be removed.  You can also send a message through the WhatsApp volunteer chat.

Can I stop by my child's class while I am volunteering for a separate event?

No, you cannot.  If you are volunteering at the school, you must stay in the area you are volunteering in and cannot walk around the school.  Unless you have permission from the teacher to come to the class, please do not disrupt the class by stopping by.

What if I cannot stay the whole time?

No worries!  Please let sleptsa.volunteercoordinator@gmail.com know that you can only come for a portion of the time or send a message on the WhatsApp chat.  

Can I bring my younger child with me?

No, you cannot bring a younger child with you to the school.

Can another family member come with me to volunteer even though she has not been approved by the district?

No, all volunteers must be approved by Broward County in order to be on school grounds.  Please have any member of your family that MAY want to volunteer at any point in the year complete the application to get approved.  Completing the application does not require you to do any volunteer work, but it allows you to go to the campus if you choose to volunteer for an activity.  The link to be approved is here: www.browardschools.com/volunteerapplication   

Where do we send the pictures if we are volunteering as photographer for an event?

Please send all pictures to sunsetlakeselementaryyearbook@gmail.com with the event in the subject line so they can be used in the yearbook.
