Rules and Safety Guidelines
Rules and Safety Guidelines
In order to keep this community safe and welcoming, we have a few rules and guidelines that sleuthers must agree to as part of their application. Rules can be reviewed on the #rules channel, or by clicking here.
SERVER RULES
SERVER RULES
Treat everyone with respect.
No doxing community members or others.
Never reveal anonymous victims. Only share victim info if either:
there are records of that individual participating as a co-conspirator, or
the individual has publicly come forward to share their name and experience.
Claims must be evidence-based, grounded in reality, and falsifiable (aka able to be tested and confirmed or proven false).
This server contains both SFW sections and NSFW sections (18+ only). Absolutely NO posting of sensitive content is allowed in SFW categories or channels. Additionally, it is NEVER appropriate to ask another member their age.
Keep discussions appropriate and relevant to the channel where you are posting.
Follow the Discord Community Guidelines, especially those pertaining to the sharing of content that contains Sexual Abuse, Graphic Content, and other sensitive materials.
IMPORTANT: Due to the nature of our work, there is always a chance that we may need to move platforms at a moment's notice. WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT SLEUTHERS STORE BACKUPS OF ALL THEIR WORK IN SAFE LOCATIONS OFF OF DISCORD, AND NEVER RELY SOLELY ON THIS PLATFORM FOR STORING DOCUMENTS.
SAFETY GUIDELINES
SAFETY GUIDELINES
Avoid revealing personal/identifying info
Be cautious when clicking external links
Keep in mind that our work involves a lot of potentially triggering content, including but not limited to: self harm, SA, CSA, torture, and murder.
IF YOU EXPERIENCE A MENTAL HEALTH EMERGENCY, DIAL 988 (US/Canada). Crisis lines for other countries are listed here.
Getting around
Getting around
The server has four main sections:
1) Utility Channels
1) Utility Channels
Semi-static channels like #welcome and #rules, where sleuthers can find important information from admins and adjust certain settings in their server profiles.
2) General
2) General
Channels for broader conversations about the server and community, including a forum to share suggestions.
3) Community
3) Community
Fun channels to get to know each other and hang out, with spaces to share art and speculate about what the guv'ment is hiding.
4) Projects
4) Projects
The four project categories are the core of the server. Each has a designated chat channel for high-level discussion, and a forum where sleuthers can post projects to work on.
SFW Areas
SFW Areas
Most sections of our server are open to all sleuthers, and center on content that is appropriate for a wider audience, such as redacted financial documents, tool development projects, etc. As a reminder, posting sensitive content in SFW is absolutely prohibited, and may result in a ban. All discussions of sensitive material like CA, SA, or CSA should be kept to channels in the "Sensitive Projects" category.
Age Verification
Age Verification
We will NEVER require our members to use Discord's invasive "age verification" methods. To verify your age for the purposes of our server, visit the #roles channel and follow the steps to apply the verified 18+ role. We ask that sleuthers be honest when verifying age, as violations could lead to our server being shut down.
Server Roles
Server Roles
Server roles are a great way for sleuthers to share their skill-sets and the type of work they are looking to do. Every role is pingable, so you'll be notified when another sleuther is trying to reach someone with your particular set of skills. You can set or change your role at any time in the #roles channel.
