The weekly meeting also was a huge success. Ideas about National Forest Day was discussed, and yet, another few new ideas from members were added on the table as well. It is so good to see everyone so positive in everything which is taken on, who don't want to join this family?
5. High light of week - Opening of SLEC HQ
This is one build SLEC can be very proud to present, so much time and effort and detail has been put in to make this building as it is today!
The building and layout itself has been design with the RL Marine Mammal Centre in the Golden Gate National Recreation Park. The HQ will accommodate SLEC Management members and also PAO (PAO did promise not to share any bloopers which might be occurred at HQ) .
We also had our first walk in signed up Member - Anna - who was the first Civilian visitor - and was so impressed she signed up immediately! GO SLEC!!!
Thank you to everyone for their contribution the past week! Thank you for your enthusiasm, support, and laughter, we CAN make a difference in this world.
12 Feb 2023: SLEC Advisor Delia Lake led a tour for SLEC members on some spectacular ocean habitats at the Abyss Observatory. A habitat curator, Ms. Lake presented "an opportunity here to visit and explore some amazing undersea sites that many of us would not be able to visit in our solid world lives. And we don't have to board an airplane or book a hotel to do it...There are many immersive exhibits and ecosystems here, from the life that inhabit Earth's seas to the technologies people have developed to study that life."
