Sleep Sound Engineer (“we,” “our,” or “us”) values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use the Sleep Sound Engineer Android application distributed through Google Play (the “App”).
By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy applies to the Android version of Sleep Sound Engineer published on Google Play.
We design the App to work primarily with on-device storage and processing. Depending on how you use the App, we may process the following categories of information:
a) User-provided profile and settings data
This may include profile name, selected profile photo path, sound preferences, timer settings, haptic settings, and related in-app preferences.
b) App usage and functional data (stored locally)
This includes information needed for core features, such as background playback status, session state, saved mixes or configurations, and sleep session records stored on your device (for example, session timing and related in-app metrics you generate through use of the App).
c) Device and technical data
Limited technical information may be processed for compatibility, troubleshooting, security, and performance. This may include app version, operating system version, device model, language or region settings, and similar diagnostic information.
d) Analytics and crash reporting (via service providers)
To help us understand how the App is used and to fix crashes or errors, we may use Google Firebase services, including Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. These services may receive technical and usage-related information (such as crash logs, error reports, and general interaction or screen-view events, depending on configuration). This data is used to improve reliability and user experience, not for third-party advertising in the current version of the App.
We do not require you to create an account to use the core features of the App.
On your device: Profile, preferences, sleep session history, and most app state are stored locally using on-device storage mechanisms (such as local databases and device storage).
With service providers: Limited technical, analytics, and crash data may be transmitted to Google (Firebase) as described above when the App connects to the internet.
We do not display third-party ads in the App.
We do not sell personal information.
We do not use personal information for cross-app behavioral advertising.
We do not share personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
We may share limited information with service providers (such as Google Firebase) only as needed to operate, secure, analyze, and improve the App, subject to their terms and privacy policies.
We may introduce advertising or other monetization in a future release. If that happens:
We will update this Privacy Policy before or when those features go live.
We will update Google Play disclosures, including Data safety.
Where required by law (for example, in the EEA, UK, Switzerland, or certain US states), we will obtain consent and provide privacy choices before enabling personalized advertising technologies.
We will describe what ad-related data is processed at that time.
We use information to:
Provide core functionality, including sleep sound playback, mixing, and timer features.
Save preferences, profile customization, and sleep session history on your device.
Support background audio, notifications, and related controls.
Monitor crashes, diagnose errors, and improve stability and performance.
Understand general usage trends to improve the App.
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
Depending on features you use, the App may request permissions such as:
Permission
Purpose
Internet
Firebase services, opening links, and other network-dependent features when needed.
Notifications
Playback controls, timer alerts, and reminders.
Foreground / background service
Continuous audio playback while the App is in the background.
Vibration
Optional haptic feedback.
Receive boot completed
Restore scheduled notification behavior where applicable.
We request only permissions relevant to App features you use.
If you are in a region that requires a legal basis for processing (such as the EEA or UK), we rely on:
Performance of a contract — to provide the features you request.
Legitimate interests — to maintain, secure, analyze, and improve the App.
Consent — where required by law (for example, for certain optional features or future advertising).
On-device data is kept until you delete it, clear app storage, or uninstall the App.
Analytics and crash data held by Google (Firebase) is retained according to Google’s policies and our Firebase project settings. You can learn more in Google’s Privacy Policy.
If we introduce server-side or cloud features later, we will update this section.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the data we process. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure; we take commercially reasonable steps to protect information.
If you use the App outside India, your information may be processed in countries where we or our service providers operate (including countries where Google processes data). Privacy laws may differ by location; we aim to handle data in line with applicable law.
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
Access information about how we process personal data.
Request correction or deletion.
Request restriction of or object to certain processing.
Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (where applicable).
You can manage many controls in Android Settings (permissions, notifications, clearing app data). For privacy requests, contact us using the details in Section 15.
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
The App may use or link to third-party services, including:
Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics) — Google Privacy Policy
The App may also contain links to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties; please review their policies separately.
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect legal, technical, or business changes. When we do, we will revise the Last Updated date and publish the new version at the same URL. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy, to the extent permitted by law.
