If you want open ear earbuds for computer use that double as a comfortable sleep aid, choose SleepPhones AcousticSheep Classic; if you need high-fidelity spatial audio kids headphones for computer with active noise cancellation and low-latency gaming, choose Moondrop Space Travel 2.
• SleepPhones AcousticSheep Classic: The biggest strength is its specialized design for side-sleeping comfort and machine-washable fleece fabric; the trade-off is a wired-only connection with no battery life to speak of beyond your source device. This pick is for anyone who needs to wear headphones while lying down or wants an over-ear solution for relaxation without pressure on the ears.
• Moondrop Space Travel 2: The biggest strength is its advanced planar magnetic driver technology paired with Bluetooth 6.0 and LDAC support for lossless audio; the trade-off is an in-ear form factor that cannot be worn while sleeping on your side. This pick is for the audiophile who prioritizes sound precision, active noise control, and wireless freedom for their computer setup.
The SleepPhones AcousticSheep Classic is built around a singular, specific purpose that most standard headphones simply ignore: the ability to wear them comfortably while lying down. If you are someone who tries to fall asleep to music, white noise, or meditation tracks but finds traditional bulky headphones digging into your temples or pressing against your pillow, this product solves that problem entirely. The design utilizes ultra-thin flat headphone speakers embedded directly into a soft, breathable fleece headband. Because there are no hard plastic cups or rigid earcups, you can rest your head on either side without feeling any discomfort or hearing distortion from the pressure.
This product is explicitly engineered for adults who value physical comfort above all else. The materials are hypoallergenic and luxurious, designed to be worn for extended periods without irritation. One of the most practical features is that the entire headband is machine washable, provided you remove the speakers first. This makes it a hygienic choice for daily use, whether you are using it during a long workday for focus, traveling on a plane to block out engine hum, or winding down for the night. It effectively doubles as an eye mask, allowing you to block out light while listening to your favorite content.

However, you should skip this option if you require wireless connectivity or active noise cancellation. The SleepPhones Classic comes with a sturdy 48-inch braided cord and a standard 3.5mm headphone plug. It does not have a battery, nor does it feature any electronic processing for sound quality enhancement or environmental noise reduction. It relies entirely on the audio output of whatever device you plug it into. If your primary goal is to get the absolute best possible fidelity for mixing audio or gaming with spatial awareness, the lack of advanced drivers and wireless freedom will feel limiting. It is a tool for relaxation and sleep, not a high-performance audio accessory for dynamic computer tasks.
In stark contrast, the Moondrop Space Travel 2 Ultra is a powerhouse of modern audio engineering designed for those who demand sonic accuracy and wireless convenience. At its core lies a patented 13mm single-magnetic annular planar driver, a sophisticated component that offers improved energy conversion efficiency and ultra-low distortion compared to standard dynamic drivers. This hardware, combined with a DSP integrated into a powerful Bluetooth SOC chip, ensures that the sound signature meets rigorous targets like the 5128 VDSF Target Response. If you are looking for open ear earbuds for computer use where clarity and imaging are paramount, this driver configuration delivers smooth treble and clear vocal separation that many competitors miss.
The feature set here is geared heavily toward the tech-savvy user who values connectivity and performance. It supports Bluetooth 6.0 and the LDAC protocol, which allows for the transmission of 24-bit/96kHz audio files. This means you can enjoy high-definition lossless audio directly from your computer without compression artifacts. Furthermore, it includes a built-in Neuron Processor Unit (NPU) that powers an AI-driven Environmental Noise Cancellation algorithm. Unlike passive isolation, this active system is trained to eliminate background noise while enhancing vocal clarity, making it ideal for office environments or noisy households where you need to focus.
For gamers or streamers, the Space Travel 2 Ultra offers a specialized Game Mode that reduces signal transmission delay to just 55ms. This low latency is critical for ensuring audio sync when playing games or engaging in video calls. The earbuds also support seamless switching between monaural and binaural modes and allow dual-device connectivity, letting you stay connected to both your desktop and phone simultaneously. However, because these are in-ear buds made of plastic, they are not suitable for sleeping on your side. They are strictly for upright or seated use where you need the best possible audio experience and active isolation from your surroundings.

I would buy the Moondrop Space Travel 2 for my computer setup. While the SleepPhones are undeniably clever for their specific niche, the Moondrop offers a far more versatile and future-proof experience for general computing tasks. The combination of LDAC support, active noise cancellation, and the low-latency game mode makes it the superior choice for anyone who wants high-quality sound, spatial audio capabilities, and the freedom to move around without being tethered by a wire. It excels as open ear earbuds for computer work, delivering the clarity and immersion that the wired SleepPhones simply cannot match in a dynamic environment.
Yes, both work well with computers, but in different ways. The Moondrop Space Travel 2 connects wirelessly via Bluetooth and offers superior sound quality for media consumption, while the SleepPhones connect via a 3.5mm jack and are better suited for relaxed, stationary listening.
No, the SleepPhones AcousticSheep Classic do not have active noise cancellation or any electronic controls; they rely on the physical fit of the soft fabric to provide some passive isolation. The Moondrop Space Travel 2, however, uses AI algorithms to actively cancel background noise.
Absolutely. The Space Travel 2 Ultra includes a specific Game Mode that lowers the latency to 55ms, ensuring your audio stays perfectly synced with the visuals on your screen.
You can machine wash the SleepPhones AcousticSheep Classic headband, but you must first remove the speaker units before washing to protect the electronics.
