BassApps (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Sleepify mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use the App on Android devices.
By installing or using Sleepify, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Who We Are
For privacy-related questions or requests, contact us at:
Email: bassappsinfo@gmail.com
2. Summary
Sleepify is a sleep and wellness app. Most features work on your device without requiring an account. When you use certain features, we or our service providers may process limited information as described below.
- Sleep sound tracking uses your microphone to record and analyze audio locally on your phone. Recordings and analysis results are stored on your device unless you delete them.
- Dream interpretation (premium) sends the text you type to OpenAI to generate a response.
- Subscriptions are processed through Google Play and RevenueCat.
- We use analytics and crash reporting (Firebase, Facebook) to understand app usage and improve stability.
- We do not sell your personal information.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Information You Provide
- Dream interpretation input: If you use the AI dream interpretation feature, you voluntarily enter a description of your dream. That text is sent to OpenAI’s API to generate an interpretation. We do not require your name or email to use this feature.
- Event feedback: You may label or correct detected sleep sound events. This feedback is stored locally on your device in a JSON file and is not automatically uploaded to our servers.
- Onboarding preferences: Bedtime, wake time, sleep goals, and related choices you select during onboarding are saved locally on your device (DataStore).
- Alarms and settings: Alarm times, sounds, smart alarm preferences, and similar settings are stored on your device.
3.2 Audio and Sleep Tracking Data
If you grant microphone permission and start sleep tracking:
- The App records audio from your device’s microphone while tracking is active.
- Audio is processed on-device using machine learning models (for example, TensorFlow Lite / YAMNet) to detect events such as snoring, coughing, or talking.
- The App may save:
- Full session recordings (audio files on device storage)
- Short clips for individual detected events
- Metadata such as timestamps, event types, confidence scores, and decibel levels
- Session summaries and statistics are stored in a local database (Room) on your phone.
We do not upload your sleep audio recordings to our own servers as part of normal App operation. Analysis happens on your device unless you explicitly share exported files outside the App.
You may import audio from files you choose; that content is analyzed locally in the same way.
3.3 Automatically Collected Information
When you use the App, we and our partners may collect:
- Device and app information: Device model, operating system version, app version, language, and general technical identifiers needed for the App to function.
- Usage and analytics events: Screen views, subscription funnel steps (e.g., viewing a plan, beginning checkout, purchase or failure), and similar interaction events through Google Firebase Analytics and the Facebook SDK (App Events).
- Crash and diagnostic data: Crash logs and performance data through Firebase Crashlytics to fix bugs.
- Install attribution: The Google Play Install Referrer API may be used to understand how the App was installed (e.g., campaign attribution).
- Advertising ID: The App declares access to the Google Advertising ID (`AD_ID`). It may be used by analytics or advertising-related SDKs according to your device settings and applicable law. You can limit ad personalization in your Android settings.
3.4 Subscription and Purchase Information
Premium features are sold via Google Play Billing, managed in part by RevenueCat. When you subscribe or restore purchases:
- Google and RevenueCat process payment and subscription status.
- We receive information needed to unlock premium features (such as whether a subscription is active), not your full payment card number.
Purchase-related events may be logged to Firebase Analytics and Facebook for analytics and fraud prevention.
3.5 Content Loaded from the Internet
The App may download:
- Sleep sound catalog metadata and stream URLs from Firebase Firestore (read-only `sounds` collection: titles, categories, URLs, premium flags).
- Bedtime stories catalog and audio from Librivox and related public sources.
These requests do not include your sleep recordings.
4. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide core features: sleep tracking, alarms, sounds, breathing exercises, statistics, bedtime stories, and dream interpretation.
- Operate premium subscriptions and restore purchases.
- Improve the App, fix crashes, and understand feature usage.
- Measure marketing and subscription performance (analytics).
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We do not use your microphone audio for advertising, and we do not sell personal information to third parties.
5. Legal Bases (EEA / UK Users)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process personal data based on:
- Contract: To provide the App and features you request.
- Legitimate interests: Analytics, security, crash reporting, and product improvement, balanced against your rights.
- Consent: Where required—for example, microphone access, notifications, or optional analytics under local law. You may withdraw consent through device settings or by stopping use of a feature.
6. How We Share Information
We share information only with:
- Service providers that help us run the App:
- Google (Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Firestore, Play Billing)
- Meta / Facebook (App Events for analytics and marketing measurement)
- RevenueCat (subscription management)
- OpenAI (dream interpretation API—user-provided dream text only when you submit a request)
- Librivox and content hosts (public story metadata and audio streams)
- Legal and safety: When required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
- Business transfers: If we merge, sell assets, or reorganize, information may transfer subject to this policy.
Service providers are permitted to use data only to perform services for us, subject to their own privacy policies.
OpenAI: Dream text you submit is processed according to [OpenAI’s Privacy Policy](https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy) and API terms. Do not include sensitive personal data (health diagnoses, financial details, others’ private information) in dream descriptions unless you accept that risk.
Google Play: Purchases are subject to [Google’s Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy).
7. Data Storage, Retention, and Deletion
- On-device data (recordings, sleep history, feedback, preferences) remains on your phone until you delete it within the App, clear app data, or uninstall the App.
- Analytics and crash data are retained by Google and Facebook according to their retention settings, typically for limited periods unless legally required longer.
- Dream interpretation requests are processed by OpenAI; we do not maintain a separate long-term dream archive on our servers as part of standard operation.
You can delete individual sleep sessions or history entries in the App where that feature is available. Uninstalling the App removes locally stored App data from your device (subject to Android backup behavior).
8. Permissions
The App may request:
- Microphone — sleep sound recording and analysis.
- Notifications — alarms and tracking status.
- Internet and network state — downloads, analytics, subscriptions, dream interpretation, cloud sounds.
- Exact alarms, full-screen intent, wake lock, boot completed, battery optimization exemption — reliable alarms.
- Foreground services — ongoing recording and media playback while you use related features.
- Vibrate — alarm feedback.
- Billing — in-app subscriptions.
You can deny or revoke permissions in Android settings; some features will not work without them.
9. Children’s Privacy
Sleepify is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
10. International Transfers
We and our providers may process data in the United States and other countries where they operate. Those countries may have different data protection laws than your residence. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) offered by providers.
11. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Data portability.
- Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based.
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (EEA/UK).
Because most sleep data stays on your device, many requests can be fulfilled by using in-app deletion or uninstalling the App. For other requests, email bassappsinfo@gmail.com with your country and a description of your request. We may need to verify your identity.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA): You have rights to know, delete, and correct personal information, and to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information. To limit use of the Advertising ID, use Android’s “Opt out of Ads Personalization” setting.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for securing your device (screen lock, OS updates).
13. Third-Party Links and Content
The App may link to third-party websites or stream third-party audio. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies before providing personal information.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes may be communicated in the App or on our website where applicable. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
