Slavko Rakic: Short Introduction
Slavko Rakić is an Assistant Professor of Industrial Engineering and Management at the University of Novi Sad and a Senior Researcher at Tallinn University of Technology. His expertise spans AI in Education, Service Engineering, Digital Servitization, and Management and Organization. His research integrates diverse methodologies—including field surveys, interviews, observations, and social network analysis—to address emerging challenges in these fields. He earned his PhD in Industrial Engineering from the University of Novi Sad and pursued visiting doctoral studies at Politecnico di Milano and the University of Applied Sciences CAMPUS 02 in Graz, bringing a strong multidisciplinary perspective to his academic work. Dr. Rakić currently serves as the Managing Editor of the International Journal of Industrial Engineering and Management and is a member of several respected organizations, including IFIP WG5.7 and the Academic Councils at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, and the Academy of Technical and Art Applied Studies in Belgrade. Beyond academia, he contributes to international projects such as Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, the European Manufacturing Survey, and the World Manufacturing Forum. He also serves as the National Ambassador of Serbia for the DigiEduHack initiative of the European Commission, promoting innovation in digital education. In addition to his professional and academic commitments, Dr. Rakić has a passion for basketball and previously officiated as a referee in the First Serbian Men’s League KLS Admiral Bet.
