Sun 20/08

Social event - Visit to the Wicklow Mountains followed by Dinner.

Desc:  The outing is to the early monastic settlement in the Wicklow mountains. It is located about an hour out of the city, and in addition to ruins of the monastic settlement of St Kevin, dating from the 6th century, there are walks by the lakes. The name, Glendalough, Gleann Dá Loch in Irish, means the glen of two lakes. For those who are more energetic they can walk as far as they wish into the mountains, but even hanging around by lakes and the interpretative centre there is plenty to see and do. For more information see the website.

The current plan is to come back to Trinity College and have some food and drink together in the Pavillion, c. 4.45pm. We will order platters of food so people can help themselves. There's a bar in the Pavillion so the idea is that people can just buy a beer, have some food together and unwind after the walk ...and mentally start working themselves up to Interspeech!!
