New for 2024: Mill Branch Dulcimores!
Beginning June 2024 I will be making my traditional dulcimores under my new Mill Branch Dulcimores banner. Why the name change? To distinguish my Traditional dulcimores from my earlier Slate Creek Dulcimers name and lineup.
I'll continue to make the occasional instrument under the Slate Creek Dulcimers name such as a modern dulcimer. Or maybe instruments that may have a quality or two that disqualifies them from being a true traditional dulcimore. And I hope to make the occasional folk instrument like cookie tin guitars and such.
Traditional Style Dulcimores by Mill Branch Dulcimores:

The Virginian is my rendition of your basic early Virginia pattern.

Bumblebee translates to Hummel in German. So the Bumblebee is my rendition of a transitional hummel/dulcimore. I can make the Bumblebee 3-6 strings. Resonator back similar to a Galax Dulcimore. 3" tall sides. It sound awesome with 2 melody strings and 4 drones!

The Virginia Hogfiddle Series:
The Hogfiddle series includes the:
Long VSL model = 24-26" vsl on a 25.5" body. $300
Short VSL model = 20-22" vsl on a 23" body. $250
The Virginia Hogfiddle series, are sort of my economy model where price is concerned but they're all solid wood and made with the same care and attention to detail as my more costly models. These are a generic Virginia teardrop shape and design. I make these from wood on hand. Special wood is extra cost. Beginning October 2025 I have reduced my Hogfiddles from 5 different sized Hogfiddles to two........ a long version covering VSLs from 24-26 inches, and a shorts version covering VSLs from 20-22 inches.
Modal or unison tuning.
3 strings only.
