As I remember, ABC was eager to renew it for a second season, but one of the major domos who was significantly responsible for the show and without whom the show could not survive declared that he preferred to kill the show off than to work with Dabney Coleman again.

I don't think people are confusing this "Aunt May slap" with the Harry slap. Members on IMDP and superherohype seem to claim there's a slap in some prints of 2 and there are people who recall there being a slap.

There is a slap I've seen it multiple times. The problem is if you bought the movie after a certain date they took it out. If you saw it in the theater she slaps him and shames him. The other versions she just leaves the room.
