Dr. Meyers is the Assistant Professor of Vocal/General Music Education at Eastern Illinois University where she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses, supervises student teachers, and serves as co-coordinator of the Music Education masters program. She holds Orff and Kodály certifications, studied at the Kodály Institute in Kecskemét, Hungary, and has taught in Kodály certification courses in AZ, KY, AL, AR, and MO. Through a Japan Fulbright Scholarship, she studied music, education, and culture in Tokyo and Shiogama, Japan, spending time in local schools there. 

In her 26 th year as a music educator, prior to collegiate teaching Dr. Meyers worked with babies/ preschool music, general music, choir, and music technology students in OH, AZ and NY in a variety of settings. She frequently presents workshops and inservices at the national, state, and local level on topics such as Kodály and Orff in the classroom, world music, and arts integration among others.

Dr. Meyers has held several leadership positions including as past Western Division President, conference committee chair for the OAKE conference in Phoenix, AZ, president of the Arizona Kodály Teachers Society chapter, and currently as treasurer for Central Illinois Kodály Educators chapter.
