How our Monarchy System Works

Each member of the monarchy serves a six-month term, bringing fresh ideas and renewed energy to our community. Meet our monarchy team at our next park day and see how their dedication and leadership make Skywatch a truly special place. They look forward to adventuring with you!

The Monarch is the leader of our group, guiding us with vision and enthusiasm. They oversee all activities, ensuring that our community remains vibrant and welcoming for all members.
The Regent handles events and everything Arts & Sciences. From organizing our spectacular gatherings to nurturing creative talents of our members, the Regent ensures there's Always something exciting happening in Skywatch.
The Champion is responsible for games and combat. They oversee our battlegames, making sure everyone enjoys thrilling and safe combat experiences with foam-padded weapons.
The Prime Minister manages the paperwork and administrative tasks that keep our group running smoothly. They handle memberships, finances, and all the behind-the-scenes paperwork that supports our adventures.
The Guildmaster of Reeves ensures we follow the rulebook and maintain fair play. They are the keepers of our games' integrity, making sure everyone understands and abides by the rules during our activities.

Jinri
Monarch

Hello I'm Jinri! I've been playing since about 2018 in the neighboring Kingdom, Emerald Hills. I have no leadership experience in Amtgard itself, I prefer battlegames but figured it was time I branch out into service related roles.

My top priorities as Incoming Monarch are to continue for us to have a safe and fun environment while also trying to get more growth by being more involved in our community's festivals.

Fun Fact: I have yet to play bard and probably never will!

Regent

I initially joined Amtgard when Skywatch was first formed before taking a break from the game, but my husband and I returned at the beginning of 2022. Shortly after that, I decided to give monarchy a try, as it was something I had been interested in since I joined. I love all parts of the game but I come from a very crafty family, so Arts & Sciences are my favorite part of all of it.

I want to grow our community by getting our name out there and continue with the classes to teach everyone different crafts.

I love cryptids and Mothman is a favorite closely followed by the Fresno Nightcrawler.

Vasharesh the Harlequin

Vasharesh the Harlequin, paragon assassin, started back in 2016 after taking a break for personal reasons. I've been a member of local and kingdom monarchy for multiple different reigns. I usually prefer crafting, and battlegaming. But recently I've decided to start working toward the warlord ladder.

I just want to do my part to help the park grow in a fun, safe way. Also I'm pretty fond of crafting , so this puts me in a better position to lead by example and help the next group of players come into their own.

Sir Cathan
Prime Minister

I am James Stewart, known in Amtgard as Cathan Durmar. I started LARPing during the early 2000's at a prior Abilene park that had gone defunct. When Skywatch started in 2013, I started coming out again as I had missed playing. In Amtgard, I enjoy battle-gaming, combat, and role-play the most. I enjoy helping others when I can, which has led to me serving as the Prime Minister of Skywatch for many years.

As the Prime Minister, my goal is to help support the other monarchy and to ultimately grow the park as a whole. The larger the park, the more fun people will have. In addition, I try and support Skywatch's strong financial standing so we can support larger and more in depth events. Great events help add to the enjoyment of the game and help to support and foster park growth.

Fun Fact: I use Amtgard as one of the ways I get exercise.

Braum Laufeyson
Guildmaster of Reeves

Well, my name is Rush Long, Braum Laufeyson in Amtgard, and I have been participating since 2018. Before my role in monarchy in Amtgard I have been a camp counselor and a coach for a little league baseball team. I tend to dip my toe in every aspect of Amtgard and honestly enjoy every bit of it.

Currently, my goals are to make sure everyone enjoys the game itself and get to play what they want to. Some people have played DnD and want to play their characters from it so I do my best to point them in the right direction.

Many of those who are in Amtgard currently know that I have a love for music and providing music, and thanks to that, I have received the honorific of DJ Laufeyson.
